Boys’ tennis serves the court at state

The varsity men’s tennis team, under the direction of Coach Jim Fuerstenberg, placed second overall at the Class 1A State Team Tennis Tournament on May 28. The team of Brandon Schneider, Tom Runde, Gavin Boll, ’13, Cam Long, Will McDonald, ’15, Jackson Takes, ’16, and alternate Tom Auge,’15, lost in the championship round to Fort Dodge St. Edmond’s.

In state singles, Brandon Schneider and Tom Runde finished their final year in high school tennis with 6th and 7th places inthe Class1ASingles competition.

On a sadder note, the men’s coach, Coach Fuerstenberg, announced that he is stepping down from the helm, so the team will be looking fora new coach to direct the dynasty of tennis state qualifiers.
