Track is here, and people should keep a close eye Molly McDonald,‘20. She is a freshman at Wahlert, who runs track. McDonald runs 400s, 200s, and 100s, and sometimes she runs 800s. Her favorite event is the 400. At her first high school meet, she ran a 400 in 1:01 in the distance medley, which would have qualified her for the state meet last year.

McDonald used to run track in Mazzuchelli. “Mazzuchelli track is a lot different than Wahlert track,” she said. “Wahlert track is a lot more serious and a lot harder, but it  is more fun.” So far Molly is really enjoying track. She is meeting new people and getting faster everyday. In fact, one of her goals is to break a minute in the 400.

Friends Sophie King and Grace Burke, ‘20, are very happy for Molly. “I’m very proud of Molly for doing track because she got out of her comfort zone,” said King.

“She did something that she didn’t want to do, and she did so good,” said Burke.

“I think she is going to do amazing and go to state,” added King. “To see her out there rocking the track just makes my day,” said King.
