Wahlert Catholic has an outstanding record for having amazingly talented singers, and Jacob Nuti, ‘19, is no exception. Starting to perform at the age of ten, Nuti has been around music for a huge part of his life. His first show ever was The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf at Saint Anthony’s Elementary.

Nuti’s talent is undeniable; however, he works to cultivate it. He takes voice lessons from Kristen Eby, a Dubuque vocal coach, regularly. He also is a part of two choir groups at Wahlert: Men’s Chorus and the varsity show choir, Impulse.

Jacob is not only an outstanding performer, but he’s also very smart academically. He is involved in many extracurriculars and participates actively in many clubs.

Jacob isn’t just a man with a great voice, however. There is more beneath the external layer. He helps others and loves to partake in service. He knows how to play piano, french horn and the trumpet, and he is a phenomenal dancer as well.

Nuti’s first memories of performing were when he was just a wee little child.

“I remember singing along to The Beatles in my basement. I would sing as well as I knew how and would have small performances in front of my parents,” Jacob says.

Nuti has been involved in 25 shows throughout his theatrical career, and he is nowhere close to stopping. He says his favorite role he’s ever played was the dentist in The Little Shop of Horrors.

“I got to go all out, and be this super obnoxiously fun character. It was such a joy to play, and I was honored to receive the role,” he states.

However, even with the countless number of leads he has had, Jacob is a genuine person, with genuine feelings. He loves to help others out and lives by the motto: Always be true to yourself.
