64 Banners and Counting
Anytime you are in the gym, you may notice the many state title banners lined up neatly across the wall. Whether you are a student walking through the gym during a passing period or an alumnus attending mass, the banners are difficult to miss. They are a reminder to former, current and future Eagles of what it means to be a Wahlert Catholic Golden Eagle. Having pride in not only our victories, but also learning about and being guided in our faith is an amazing opportunity.
This past weekend, Wahlert’s wrestling team participated at state in Des Moines. Four wrestlers, including Josh Ramirez, Boone McDermott, Kolton Bartow and Blake Bradley, ‘18, qualified. In the end, Ramirez and McDermott received first place, Bartow placed second and Bradley fourth. Not only was this an amazing accomplishment for a team with only four wrestlers in the tournament, but they also scored the most points out of any 2A team, securing the state title and winning the tournament.
To celebrate all of Wahlert’s academic, artistic and athletic awards, the Booster Club has designed a state banner t-shirt celebrating our 64 championships. The shirts cost $12 and can be ordered by any student, family member or Wahlert alumni through the link provided. Go Eagles!
