Art at Clarke
There are always events for the music kids, the sports kids, even the math kids, but do you ever hear of something for the art kids?
Recently Clarke University held Art at Clarke for these art students to connect. Many workshops were available in areas like graphic design and sketch book. Students from various schools in the area attended, including some from Davenport and Cedar Rapids.
Quinn Lyons, ‘15, is one of those students whose art was on display. “It was pretty much a day where we came together and went to classes with other artists in our area. It was a really good time, and I met a lot of cool people,” explained Lyons.
One of the sessions that Quinn went to was graphic design, where she made an ‘L’ logo to represent her last name.
“We signed up late for everything, so I didn’t really get into my first choice sessions, but that did not matter much. We all had an amazing experience that anyone who enjoys art should do,” said Lyons.
Art at Clarke was a new event this year that will hopefully continue into the future providing a time for artists to show off and express themselves.
