What I did on my summer vacation

 

Although summer 2014 has come to an end, that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the many memories it gave us. Whether you went on an awesome vacation, got to be apart of a stellar service trip, or just hung out in good old Dubuque, we know you had tons of fun. Here’s some of the things your fellow eagles did this summer:

“I went to see Beyonce in concert with some of my friends. We watched from the seventh row. It was exhilarating!”

“I went on the Catholic Heart Work Camp trip this summer. To say the least, it was an emotional and life-changing experience.”

“This summer, I upgraded to ‘Town Hall 9’ on Clash of Clans. It was awesome.”

“I moved from Sioux City to Peosta this summer. It was definitely overwhelming at first, but I really like it here now.”

“I spent two weeks at a lake house in Michigan with my family. One day, we went tubing and I got a bruise. It was still the best day ever.”

“I went to Florida this summer with my family. I saw a dolphin!”

“I took a trip to Florida with my family. We visited my cousins and spent a lot of time on the beach. Sadly, it rained most of the time we were there. It was still a blast!”

Mitchel Morel

 

 

“I went to the Dominican Republic this summer. I spent a lot of time on the beach with my family. While in the Dominican, I realized how different life was for the people there. It made me realize how much we take for granted. I really felt like a part of the Dominican Republic while I was there.”

“I went to a lot of concerts this summer. My favorite would have to be Mayday Parade. It was the best day ever.”

“On the 4th of July, I went to the fireworks at the Country Club. It was really fun to see everybody. Everyone dressed really cute.”

“This summer, I caddied for my uncle (who’s a pro golfer), in the PGA National Championship in Myrtle Beach. We are the only two golfers in our family, so it was fun to spend some time with him.”

“I went on a service trip to an Indian Reservation in South Dakota. One day, our job was to clear a graveyard. It was really foggy, and we found some old dolls laying around. It was kind of creepy, but I mostly thought it was amazing.”

Dre Larose

“This summer, I went to Miami with my cousin. I had lived in Miami for a really long time before I    moved to Dubuque, so it felt good to be back. I spent most of the trip relaxing on the beach, which I  loved. It was the experience of a lifetime.”

“I went to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. I had so much fun. It was a life changing experience for sure.”

“I took a trip to New York and Washington, D.C., this summer with my family. We went sight seeing and went to see the play Wicked, which was really cool.”

“I went on vacation to Daytona, Florida. We were on the beach a lot and ate dinner on the 27th floor of our hotel one night. It was a really relaxing trip. I would do it again.”

“This summer, I went on a trip to Spain with the Spanish club. We did lots of shopping and even got lost one day. It ended up being fun, because we witnessed a king being coronated!”

“This summer, I went to Disney World with my family. We did a lot of really fun things like    scuba-diving!”

Andrew Wagner

 

“I went on a service trip to Detroit. We stayed at a nearby high school, that was kind of in a bad neighborhood. On the first day, we witnessed a drive by shooting. We even saw the get-away car! I then realized it probably wasn’t the safest part of town.”

“After a softball game, we walked downtown and accidentally lost some of the team members. Later, we laughed it off.”

“I went to a Cardinals’ game in St. Louis with Jacob Berning. My favorite part of the experience was getting an autograph from Trey Search, the ballboy.”

“I went to the Dominican Republic with Dietz Meyer. We got coconuts from a caveman,and also witnessed him scale a tree. It was a cool trip.”

“I went fishing in Northern Wisconsin. It was a family trip and was extremely relaxing. Besides going to the emergency room (after being cut by a fish hook), I would gladly do it again.”
