Eagles sweep past Chariton, 81-59

Point guard Jared Walker, ’14, speeds past his Chariton opponent. Walker not only chipped in 10 points, but held Chariton’s Daric Lange to only 8 points. Lange had averaged 22 points per game before the Eagles’ shut him down.

In round 1 of the State Basketball tournament, the Eagles used teamwork to charge to a 81-59 victory over the Chariton Chargers. Josh Carter, ’15, led all scorers with 23. Tyler Potts chipped in 14, Nolan Timp, ’15, added 12, and Jared Walker, ’14, held Chariton’s leading scorer to 8 points while scoring 10 points of his own.

The Eagles will face top-seed Harlan Thursday, March 14, in a 6:35 p.m. semi-finals match-up.
