When meeting Tony Medellin, ‘20, you may think he is just a timid and shy freshman, but as the majority of his classmates know, that’s not at all true. Tony has a YouTube channel where he is not afraid to be himself. His channel is called Osi Bear Covers, which has 70 subscribers! He posts acoustic guitar covers on it.

“I started my YouTube channel after watching a movie called, The Book of Life. In this movie, a boy plays the guitar for a girl, and this always makes her happy. I want to give that same feeling off to others when I play the guitar,” Medellin says.

Tony has five videos up on his channel right now. He’s also trying to start an upload schedule to upload every other week! For each cover he posts, he has to practice guitar and singing every day for a week.

Making this channel has become an important part of Tony’s life. He couldn’t imagine not having YouTube.

“Without my channel, I wouldn’t have many of the friends that I have now,” he says.
