Twin or bestfriend?

Grace Kann, Katie and Sam Kluesner, ’20, have been close friends since elementary school. Despite being Katie’s brother, Sam took a loss against Grace in a trivia to see who knew Katie better.

In every family, sibling relationships can vary. But what about twin siblings? Life as a twin could mean having a best friend or a mortal enemy, but do they know each other better than their friends?

Katie and Sam Kluesner, ‘20, are twins. According to Sam: Katie’s favorite color is blue, her favorite food is pizza, her favorite thing to do is play volleyball, and her favorite teacher is Mr. Allen.

Katie’s good friend, Grace Kann, ‘20, disagrees. “I know Katie’s favorite color is purple, and her favorite thing is probably watching Netflix,” Kann said. “I think her favorite teacher is Ms. Michel, and I’m going to guess that her favorite food is dessert.” Sam got Katie’s favorite thing to do correct, and Grace got Katie’s favorite color and her favorite teacher right.

A close friend of Ellie’s, Anna Herrig, ‘18, knew just as much about Ellie as her twin Kaylee. “I’m pretty sure her favorite color is blue and her favorite thing to do is definitely to watch One Tree Hill,” she said. Herrig also believes that Ellie’s favorite teacher is Brother Gee and her favorite food is pasta. Overall, Osterberger and Herrig tied with Kaylee getting Ellie’s favorite thing to do right and Anna getting Ellie’s favorite color right.

Last but not least, Mikayla and Kolton Bartow, ‘18. Kolton believes that Mikayla’s favorite color is blue, her favorite food is pretzels with dip, her favorite thing to do is hang out with her friends, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Leonard.

Anna Sherman, ‘18, a good friend of Mikayla’s, thinks that her favorite color is blue, her favorite food is potatoes, her favorite thing to do is relax and spend time with friends, and her favorite teacher is Mr. Campbell. In the end, they both correctly answered two of the questions. Kolton knew Mikayla’s favorite color and teacher, while Anna knew Mikayla’s favorite color and her favorite thing to do.

Morgan Reichel, ‘18, believes that there are positives and negatives to having a twin. Her twin is Megan Reichel, ‘18. “As much as being a twin is a blessing, it’s a pain because you’re always together,” Reichel explains. “Every time you see your twin, it’s like looking in a mirror.”

Carolyn Peckosh, ‘20, is a twin to Jacquelyn Peckosh, ‘20, and has other thoughts. “Your twin knows almost everything about you, which can be good and bad, but I like it a little more often than not,” Peckosh said. “We do almost everything together.”

Overall, being a twin is something that most people won’t be able to experience. Best friends may be as close as family, but having a twin as your best friend will be forever.
