Senior role models
Starting high school can be a scary, dramatic time. To ease those feelings, it helps freshmen to pick a cool, experienced senior to model their actions after. As the seniors prepare to leave high school, the freshmen take some time to reflect on who helped them through this year.
“I look up to Sami Wiezorek and Taylor Topping because they were good leaders of the diving team and always had a positive attitude.”

She’s a good senior because my friends and I feel like we can really talk to her, and she gives really good advice about how to survive the next four years. She always is willing to help and make you feel better.”

“A senior that I look up to is John Ott. He is in Engineering with me, and he has helped me quite a bit in that class. Another senior I look up to is Matt Wiggington. He is in track and team sports with me, and he is a really cool guy to talk to. He also has a great sense of humor.”

“The senior I respect the most is Tom Auge. Tom has been not only a role model for me, but also a friend. Tom always asks me how I’m doing, and also how my dad is doing. He puts the whole Patrick family in front of himself, just because he cares. He is always at the Wahlert athletic events and cheers on the team, no matter what sport. He participates in some tennis, and it is very fun to go out and watch him. He is also on the lunch committee, guiding everyone to pick the lunches the people want.”

“I have had a lot of experiences with Luke Kelly in theatre and show choir, so I’d consider him my friend. He is just so nice to everybody no matter who they are, whether they’re an athlete, music person or academic person. He’s overall everyone’s friend. No matter what he may be feeling, he’s always willing to give you a hug and have a laugh or two. He’s friendly and funny and a great person to be around. He is definitely one of my favorite seniors.”
