Wahlert Creative Writing Club brings the feels
“Poetry is what happens when your mind stops working, and for a moment, all you do is feel.”- Atticus
Wahlerts Creative Writing Club presents the “feel” with fun writing activities that help students express themselves in a creative way.
Alyssa Kirby, ‘23, and Megan Hefel, ‘23, bring the entertainment as the presidents of Creative Writing Club. An example of one of the activities is writing stories based on an object in the classroom. The only limit to this activity is a member’s imagination.
To some students, Creative Writing Club is a way to get away from school and take time to do something they love. Kirby explains, “There are many forms of writing, and I love that you can take it anywhere. It’s a really cool form of expression that can benefit you but also others who might enjoy it.”
Creative Writing Club usually meets in Miss Petersen’s room during Eagle Time. The club does not have a specific schedule, but they usually have it on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
Overall, Creative Writing Club is a fun way to learn new writing skills in a fun and enjoyable way.
