Wahlert dress swap

With Prom just around the corner, planning has already begun. After receiving the “go ahead” from the administration, Caroline White, ’17, decided to bring a dress swap to Dubuque. Although the swap is run through Wahlert, it is open to the entire Dubuque community.

On March 31, Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School will be open from 5 to 6p.m. for dress drop-offs.

“Basically, if someone wants to sell their prom dress, they bring it to us and set a price. Each person will write down their name and phone number. They are also asked the brand and size of the dress and whether or not they accept checks,” said White.

As of now, the swap will be held in the Mazzuchelli commons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, the general public can come in and look at dresses.

After 8 p.m., the seller will come back to Mazzuchelli and pick up their money. If someone places a dress out to sell and no one buys it, they will pick up their dress.

“If no one comes back to pick up a dress, we will probably just donate it somewhere,” said White.

If you are in need of a dress, or are looking to get rid of your dress, stop by Mazzucchelli on March 31 or April 1!
