Oh the places you’ll go (to eat at Prom)

With prom just a day away, final plans are falling into place, and some procrastinators may be looking for a last minute place for dinner. Whether you want to experience some fine dining on May 6, or just a low key get together with some friends, there’s a prom restaurant for everyone!

Senior prom is known as one of the biggest nights of high school, and for a lot of the seniors this year, that means a big fancy meal. Sarah Wareham, ‘17, said, “My group is going to the Dubuque Golf and Country Club for dinner. It’s a huge group of over 30 people, so it might get a little crazy.  It’s a pretty fancy place, but since Murfee Cook, ‘17, is a member, we are going to charge the whole bill to her account, and then everyone will pay her parents $25 each to cover the cost. I’m really excited to spend my last high school dance with so many people that have made high school great for me!”

For some junior guys, Prom is in the back of their minds, and they usually let their dates take charge of the evening. Owen Funke, ‘18, is no exception. Funke said, “I’ve let my date, Emma Earles, ‘18, do a lot of the planning. We’re going to Timmerman’s in East Dubuque for dinner. We’re going with five other couples, it’ll be unreal.”

Even though prom is usually for juniors and seniors, some sophomores are having their first prom experience a year early. Michael Rambousek, ‘19, was asked by Jennifer Carpenter, ‘18. Rambousek said, “We’re going to Olive Garden for dinner. I’m pretty excited because it’s very low key, and it will be a great start to the night!”

Whether or not you decide to go to the Country Club, Timmerman’s, or Olive Garden, don’t get too stressed out about it. Prom is meant to be a fun night, and even if you eat at Chik-Fil-A, you can still enjoy tomorrow night with as little stress as possible!
