Super Bowl 50

The Super Bowl is just right around the corner, but who are the two Super Bowl contenders? Well, for now, that shall remain a mystery until February.
Teams first must win enough games in the regular season to make it to the playoffs. It all starts with the Wildcard teams with the lowest seeds in both NFC and AFC.( The number in parentheses is the seed the team has. )
(5) Kansas City made quick work of (4) Houston with a 30-0 win to move on to the AFC Divisional round to go up against (2) Patriots. (6) Pittsburgh won a close game to move up a step on the bracket beating the (3) Bengals in a close game that ended in a score of 18-16. Now (1) Denver has to host Pittsburgh in the last AFC Divisional round of the 2015-16 season. these two games will be broadcasted in 1/16 and 1/17.
In the NFC, (4) Washington was off to a great start with a 11 point lead over (5) Green Bay, but that wasn’t going to stop Mr. MVP of the 2014-15 Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers led the team to a 35-18 win over Washington. But (2) Arizona seems ready for Rodgers as Green Bay travels to Glendale in the kick-off of the NFC Divisional round. Talk about close wins, (6) Seattle defeated (3) Minnesota with a final score of 10-9 when the Vikings, kicker missed a 27-yard field goal to win the game. Seattle now has to meet up with the Dabbing sensation Cam Newton and the (1) Carolina Panthers in Charlotte for a NFC Divisional round matchup.
Students are excited for the results and have their own favorites. Mitchell Walz, ‘19, whose favorite team has the second to last seed in the NFC Playoffs wanted to takes us back into the first Super Bowl matchup ever in the history of The NFL “It would have to be the Packers because they’re just so amazing, and their opponent would have to be without a doubt Kansas City Chiefs just because of their 11 game win streak,” he says. “I can see the score ending up to be 28-21. Green Bay takes the trophy back home.”
However, Joshua Nash, ‘18, knows when it’s time to look past his fandom when predicting the Super Bowl matchup. “The two Super Bowl contenders will be Seahawks and Kansas City,” Nash said. “I told everyone from the start that the Chiefs cannot be stopped and the Seahawks have awoken their abilities to play great football. Great teams win championships. It would end up being 35-21 with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl.”
