TRIUMPH. Avery Schmidt, ‘23, takes a win at the women’s regional wrestling meet on Jan. 27. Schmidt, wrestling at 170 lbs., and Ava Blue McDermott, wrestling at 120 lbs., will wrestle at the state tournament on Feb. 2 and 3 in Coralville. Schmidt hopes to end up on the podium, and the girls will be there to cheer each other on as she said “Sticking together and cheering for each other helped lead us to our success at regionals,” said Schmidt.
