Matt Hoffman continues to fly at Northern Illinois

Matt Hoffmann, ‘14, is currently a sophomore at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, where he plays baseball for the Huskies.

During his time at Wahlert, Matt played two years of football, four years of basketball, and four years of baseball.

Hoffmann sees the time commitment as the major difference between high school and college baseball.

”Going from two hour practices every weekday to four or five hour practices every day in college was definitely a big transition,” he said.

Hoffmann experienced success at Wahlert in all three sports, but one accomplishment stands out above the rest.

“Winning state basketball my senior year is my greatest accomplishment in athletics to this point,” Hoffmann said.
