The dance team prepares to raise funds through camps for young dancers.

with the Rock the Rafters dance camp. Rock the Rafters is the dance team’s home showcase, where boys and girls of ages 4 to 12 come to learn dances and have fun. The performance part of the day will be Feb. 9th at 1 p.m. in the Wahlert gym.

A lot of work goes into preparing for the camp, but all the hard work pays off when the team sees the number of campers that participate. “It’s very interesting to see how things are on the flip side. I used to dance in the camp, and now I’m behind the scenes running it,” said Lizzie Kann, ‘22. Kann also says she can’t wait to dance herself during Rock The Rafters because it will be one of the last time she dances with seniors Kelsey Cook, Ashley Steele and Allie Arnz, ‘20.

Arnz says she’s sad to see that her last year of the camp is coming to an end, but she’s mostly excited to plan and help prepare for the big event.

“I love to choreograph dances for the little kids, especially the age of 2 to 5, and my favorite part is teaching them new tricks and spending the day with them,” Arnz said.

This is freshman Grace Kluesner’s first year on the team, and she says she’s been looking forward to Rock the Rafters because this will be her very first time ever participating in it.

“Rock the Rafters was something every kid talked about when I was little, so I’m glad to finally be one of the members who has the opportunity to put on a show for so many children,” said Kluesner.

The Dance Team hopes to see many familiar faces support them during their showcase. The campers will perform first in the showcase line-up to a Valentine’s Day-themed dance put together by the team. All students, staff and families are invited to the early afternoon showcase where many school and local studio dance teams will perform their routines. Come enjoy a “heart” warming performance on a cold winter’s day.
